Job Summary The Financial Specialist Lead plays a key role in supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of the Institute by overseeing financial processes, account management, and team performance. This position is responsible for reconciling over 100 cost center and grant accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance through transaction entry, documentation oversight, and process development. The role also supports Institute leadership and Principal Investigators with detailed financial reporting, forecasting, and budget insights to inform strategic planning and program operations.
In addition to financial responsibilities, the Financial Specialist Lead provides technical guidance and policy training to staff and leadership, serving as a resource for financial operations and documentation compliance. This position leads a team of financial staff, setting expectations, monitoring workflow, and driving continuous performance improvement. The role emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and proactive communication to ensure smooth and compliant financial operations across the Institute.
