General Information:
James Madison University Foundation, Inc. (the Foundation) is a 501©3 not-for-profit
organization, formed to promote the achievement and further the aims and purposes of James Madison University. This position supports disbursement processing for the Foundation.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzes and processes all requests for (non-scholarship) payment from Foundation funds, ensuring compliance with established Foundation disbursement policies, from receipt of payment voucher through disbursement and payee payment processing. Communicates with internal and external customers as required to process payments in compliance with payment regulations.
 
Qualifications:
Required:
Competency in Microsoft applications including Excel and Outlook
Competency in Adobe Sign & Adobe Acrobat
Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituents (orally and in writing)
Ability to work with a team and independently when necessary

Additional Considerations:
Prior accounts payable, data entry or fund accounting experience
Experience with Microsoft Access and Abila MIP
