 Position Description 
Advertised Job Summary  | Under the limited supervision of the Psychology Department Chair and the Graduate Program Director, this position manages the daily operations of the Psychology Graduate Student Services Office. Primary responsibilities of the position include student hiring and financial management and advisement., tuition abatements, coordination of the graduate program course schedule, providing assistance to concentration directors in regards to APA accreditation, curriculum requirements, student applications, progression, and graduation requirements and compiling student data into reports when requested. The Psychology Department offers a Ph.D. in Psychology with four concentrations: Cognitive & Neural Science, School Psychology, Clinical Community Psychology and Quantitative Psychology. This position functions as a liaison between the department and the Graduate School and helps develop and administer policies and procedures for the doctoral program to ensure conformance with the American Psychological Association, the University and Graduate School requirements.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience  | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications  | Experience with student services, coordination of course scheduling, skills in collecting and summarizing student data, and compliance with federal, state and university policies and procedures.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities  | Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and managerial skills. Knowledge of MS Word operating systems and database management including Access and Excel.

Job Duty  | Advises the graduate program director and faculty members of all Graduate School regulations and serves as liaison for interactions with the Graduate School. Creates departmental admission files and detailed applicant spreadsheets for each of the four graduate programs in the Psychology Department. Coordinates procedures to ensure timely completion of milestones and submission of paperwork. Coordinates Graduate student seminars and defenses. Conducts the Graduation Clearance process and informs all students of deadlines as well as details for graduation day. Completes annual advising sessions with all graduate students to document progress to degree. Follows and ensures compliance with federal state and University policies and procedures.
