About the Department:
The mission of the Graduate Academic Affairs Office is to support inclusive excellence and innovation in graduate education and research training and to address the academic and professional development needs of graduate certificate, master's degree, and doctoral students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS). The office is responsible for establishing and sustaining a data-informed, evidence-based approach to graduate education and enrollment planning for the college in the context of rapidly evolving regional, national, and international landscapes for graduate education. The office integrates and updates catalog adjustments in communication systems, supervises graduate curriculum development and academic program reviews for the college, and it is responsible for developing college-level academic policies and procedures and managing graduate student appeal and grievance processes. In partnership with university-level offices as well as local academic units within the college, it processes all academic actions from inquiry through degree conferral and coordinates CHSS graduate student recruitment, orientation, retention, advising, and career pathways programming. The unit manages CHSS's competitive awards for graduate students. In partnership with faculty and college research support services, it works to secure external funding to support graduate education and research training and to provide professional development opportunities related to graduate education and graduate mentoring.
About the Position:
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) is seeking a detail-oriented temporary wage employee to support graduate enrollment marketing and communications efforts, specifically using our technology tools such as Patriot Connect and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This position works closely with the CHSS Graduate Admissions team to build, maintain, and optimize automated email communications targeting CHSS graduate students.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and update SQL queries in Marketing Cloud to segment prospective student audiences for automated journeys and/or email communications;
  • Create and maintain data extensions and query activities within Marketing Cloud Automation Studio;
  • Assist with the setup and monitoring of journey builder campaigns;
  • Perform routine data quality checks to ensure accurate target audience;
  • Support the testing of email communications;
  • Document units Patriot Connect and Marketing Cloud usage, including but not limited to query usage, journey configurations, and campaign processes;
  • Coordinate with enrollment staff to update filters, program codes, and academic terms as needed; and
  • Additional projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Basic familiarity with data concepts (tables, filtering, sorting);
  • Exposure to SQL or any query/database language;
  • Experience using Microsoft suite tools such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Visio, and Excel;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical documentation; and
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Patriot Connect, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, or similar CRM/marketing platforms;
  • Experience using project management tools such as Asana, Airtable, or Smartsheet; and
  • Interest in higher education, enrollment management, or digital marketing.
