Job Description:
Join a high-impact team supporting graduate business students at one of the nation's largest and most innovative business schools. In this role, you will advise graduate students, coordinate events, and help shape the student experience from orientation through graduation.
The W. P. Carey School of Business is seeking multiple Graduate Programs Student Services Support Coordinators to support graduate business programs within the Full-time MBA and Specialized Master's portfolio through event and program management, daily operations, and student success initiatives under the guidance of the Associate Director. In this role, you will collaborate with a high-performing team to develop, implement, and evaluate services and events that promote student academic success and engagement.
The Graduate Programs Student Services Support Coordinator serves as a primary point of contact for one or more graduate business programs and supports a collaborative and global student community. This role requires someone who is responsive to students' needs and concerns in a service-oriented environment while demonstrating professionalism, discretion, cultural awareness, and strong communication skills.
This position is part of the larger Program Operations team working together to provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong relationships with graduate students, faculty, and internal partners. Primary responsibilities include graduate student support, faculty support, academic advising, event coordination, student communications, and execution of daily program operations. The Coordinator should demonstrate ownership and the ability to work independently while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This Tempe-based position offers flexible scheduling options, including hybrid in-office/remote work arrangements that support both program needs and work/life balance. Salary Range: $46,000 - $48,000 annually; DOE
Days and Schedule
Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Some evening and weekend work may be required based on program schedules, student engagement activities, and event support needs.
One position supporting Specialized Master's evening cohort programs will require at least one evening work schedule per week (example: 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.) to support working professional student populations.
This position is eligible for hybrid work. Hybrid work is an arrangement where employees spend a minimum of 60% of their regular work week at their primary ASU work location. Dean or vice president-level approval is required.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Provides academic advising and student support, including problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpretation of university and program policies
Monitors, manages, and documents student academic progress, including degree requirements, probation, off-track status, withdrawals, enrollment adjustments, and graduation readiness
Facilitates student administrative processes, including registration, interactive Plan of Study (iPOS), internship/CPT trainings, and graduation processes
Develops and delivers proactive student communications through newsletters, presentations, office hours, class announcements, targeted outreach, and 1:1 appointments
Plans, coordinates, and executes orientation, academic programming, student engagement initiatives, leadership programming, and signature events
Collaborates with faculty, internal departments, and university partners to support program operations, classroom logistics, and student success initiatives
Supports faculty through classroom coordination, course material preparation, and administrative support
Supports program budgets and financial processes, including expenditures, disbursements, reimbursements, and approvals
Maintains program data, reporting, and operational processes, including documentation and continuous improvement of procedures
Creates, documents, and improves operational processes and procedures to enhance program effectiveness and the student experience
Serves as a key student services resource within the college and ASU and represents the W. P. Carey Program Operations team on committees and collaborative initiatives as needed
May hire, train, and supervise student employees or graduate assistants
Works collaboratively with student leaders, faculty, admissions, and recruiting teams to support student success and community-building initiatives
Desired Qualifications
Evidence of a Master's degree in education, business, or a related field
Experience advising or supporting students in a higher education environment
Experience working with international student populations
Experience coordinating events, programs, or student engagement initiatives
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various audiences
Experience delivering presentations, workshops, or student trainings
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
Experience managing projects, timelines, operational processes, and budgets
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and collaborative technology tools
Familiarity with student information systems (PeopleSoft) and learning management systems (Canvas)
Experience composing, editing, and proofreading professional communications
Experience working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Demonstrated initiative and ability to take ownership of assigned programs and initiatives
Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions
Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals
