General Information:
The Office of the Registrar at James Madison University invites applications for a Graduation and Degree Progress Specialist. The successful candidate will perform all graduation services and support other areas in the office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule, monitor, and utilize university query and reporting functionality to ensure the successful evaluation of students' graduation applications.
- Review student records to ensure graduation requirements are being met for all applicants.
- Order and distribute original and replacement paper diplomas; and, Certified Electronic Diplomas.
- Prepare and edit copy for the commencement program.
- Perform functions related to commencement ceremonies.
- Assist with all transfer credit functions as assigned.
- Assist with varsity athletes' academic eligibility, and club sports members' academic eligibility.
Qualifications:
- Significant previous or current customer service experience
- Technology aptitude not limited to the following: Adobe Acrobat, advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, and running queries and reports with the ability to synthesize and understand the results.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in records confidentiality, attention to detail, and rules and regulations adherence.
Additional Considerations:
- Familiarity with the PeopleSoft student information system.
Conditions of Employment:
