Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. About the Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA):
The Community College Workforce Alliance (CCWA), the workforce development partnership between Reynolds and Brightpoint Community Colleges, is dedicated to building the region’s workforce and supporting local businesses through high-quality training, credentialing, and talent development programs.
Position Summary:
The Program Support Specialist – Healthcare Programs supports CCWA’s mission by providing administrative and program coordination for healthcare workforce training programs and related initiatives. This position also supports other CCWA programs as needed, including registration, reporting, and grant-funded activities. The specialist serves as a key liaison to students, instructors, employers, and third-party partners to ensure seamless program delivery and an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and program support to the Healthcare Workforce Training team. Assist with registration processes, grant tracking, and tuition assistance documentation. Serve as a subject matter expert for administrative processes related to Healthcare programming. Coordinate class logistics, including preparation of materials, scheduling, instructor communication, and technology support. Maintain accurate records, reports, and databases related to program activities and participant outcomes. Act as a liaison between CCWA, instructors, students, third-party vendors, testing proctors, and partner organizations. Support a range of workforce programs, including grant-funded, open-enrollment, contract training, and industry credential courses. Provide responsive, professional customer service to students, employers, and community partners. Assist with special events, online training programs, and skills testing coordination. Perform other duties as assigned to support CCWA’s operations and mission.
Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications | Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of administrative and office support practices and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet applications. Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage priorities and work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Demonstrated customer service orientation and ability to foster positive relationships. Working knowledge of financial aid or tuition assistance processes preferred. Ability to interpret and communicate policies, research issues, and resolve problems independently. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Considerations | Preferred Qualifications: Post-secondary training or education in office administration, business, or an industry-related field. Experience in workforce development, higher education, or a similar setting. Experience communicating with corporate or government agencies. Experience using computer-based student information systems or financial reporting tools. Experience supporting healthcare or technical training programs.
