Key Responsibilities
Guide Academic & Personal Growth
- Develop individualized academic and graduation plans aligned with student goals
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
- Monitor student progress and conduct regular check-ins with students and families
- Support at-risk students with targeted intervention strategies
Drive College & Career Readiness
- Guide students through college applications, financial aid, and post-secondary planning
- Organize impactful experiences such as College Day, Career Day, and field trips
- Support dual enrollment pathways and career exploration opportunities
- Build and maintain alumni networks to inspire current students
Design Student-Centered Systems
- Collaborate on master scheduling and course planning aligned with graduation requirements
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with policies and FERPA
- Support intake, orientation, and ongoing academic planning processes
- Monitor graduation progress and adjust student schedules as needed
Support Whole-Student Wellness
- Identify and support students needing additional academic or social-emotional services
- Coordinate SST, 504, and IEP processes in collaboration with staff and families
- Connect students with internal and external resources to support well-being
Collaborate with Community
- Partner closely with teachers, Academic Advisors, and families to support student success
- Facilitate bilingual communication and inclusive engagement practices
- Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development
- Contribute to a positive, safe, and culturally responsive school environment
Requirements
Who You Are
You Must Have:
- A valid Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Counseling
- A Bachelor’s degree in Academic Counseling or related field
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Flexibility to support both AM and PM programs, including evening shifts
