UNC Charlotte is hiring an Honors Advisor to advise incoming and first-year University Honors Program students and coordinate co-curricular programming. The role involves mentoring students, organizing honors workshops and events, collaborating with campus partners, and maintaining accurate advising records to support student success and engagement in the Honors College.
Highlights
- Advise incoming and first-year University Honors Program (UHP) students on curricular and co-curricular requirements, fellowships, and campus resources.
- Plan, organize, and deliver co-curricular programming including workshops, community service, and Honors College events.
- Oversee recruitment and onboarding for the incoming UHP cohort, attending recruiting events such as SOAR and Admitted Students Day.
- Collaborate with Honors College staff, UHP Student Association, and Student Ambassadors to support programming and recruitment activities.
- Maintain accurate student records for priority registration, honors probation, and graduation eligibility; coordinate honors housing lists.
- Teach three credit hours of lower-division honors coursework per semester.
- Coordinate student travel and participation in honors conferences.
- Required education: Master's degree completed by July 1, 2026.
- Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years of advising experience, strong communication skills, and experience with high-achieving students and co-curricular programming.
- Salary is $55,000 annually; full-time permanent position under Academic Affairs, Honors College department.
