Job Description:

The Dean's Office within the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University is seeking a highly motivated HR Principal to be responsible for managing, approving and processing transactions for: personnel actions for all employee classifications; recruitment of staff and postdoctoral scholars; year-to-year appointments; and thrives on working collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Position Salary Range:

$70,000 - $85,000 annually; DOE

Essential Duties:

Personnel action processing

  • In coordination with the academic units, manages the process for reviewing complex year-to-year faculty appointments and reappointments

  • Prepare offer letters, renewals, waivers and amendments for all classifications; faculty, academic professional and post-doctoral appointments

  • Provides guidance to academic units on year-to-year faculty appointments

  • Reviews and approves payroll transactions

  • Works in collaboration with dean's office staff in coordination of hiring, records and documentation, and supplemental compensation requests

  • Research complex payroll issues utilizing the data warehouse and/or other payroll reports

  • Coordinates summer payroll and other faculty actions in conjunction with the Research Advancement team.

Recruitment and Hiring

  • Coordinates and manages staff personnel searches, including postings and determination of desired qualifications, salary placement, applicant evaluations and hiring

  • Coordinates and processes all instructional support.

  • Manages the competitive hiring process for postdocs through faculty search

  • Oversees the Visa Process

Administrative

  • Assists with managing the online digital storage, Docuware, for the school

  • Gives input to the conceptual framework for training of staff in the academic units within Fulton

  • Assists with the Notice of Appointment (NOA) process

  • Knowledge of other academic processes to include promotions and renewals.

  • Generate reports for leadership, ensuring data accuracy and integrity

  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking.
