Human Resources Support & File Assistant Full Description

Department Overview:

The SMPH Office of Human Resources is located on the 4th floor of the Health Sciences Learning Center (HSLC), 750 Highland Ave. right on the Bus 80 route. Our office provides various HR services to nearly 1,525 faculty, 1,900 Academic Staff, and 700 University Staff employees. Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an educational institution.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. HR or administrative experience or coursework preferred
2. Proficiency with UW-Madison Box preferred
3. A high degree of confidentiality is required
4. Proficient in internet navigation, Excel, Outlook, and Word
5. Effective team skills and attention to detail

Position Summary/Job Duties:

The Human Resources File Assistant will provide support to the HR Services team within School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH). Responsibilities may include:
- Saving personnel documents into electronic file storage
- Tracking records in Box
- Managing routine HR transactions in our HRIS – Workday.
- Updating electronic employee records
- Drafting routine communication
- Meet regularly with supervisor and provide project updates
- Working on special projects and reports as needed

This position is remote and job duties can be performed at an off-site location. The first day of work will be on-site at the HSLC to receive equipment and facilitate onboarding tasks.

Physical Demands:

Ability to type and sit for a prolonged amount of time.
