Job Description Summary

Organization's Summary Statement:

The Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (Mtech) is seeking a Web and Visual Design Lead for xFoundry. This role is a core member of the xFoundry marketing team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the organization's digital presence while producing high-quality visual assets across multiple content streams, including social media, print, and presentations.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end visual and front-end execution of xFoundry's brand, bridging the gap between high-fidelity design and functional web development. You will design site architecture and visual systems, translate them into fully functional, responsive websites using modern visual development platforms, and ensure those sites integrate seamlessly with CMS platforms, APIs, and AI-enabled services. 

Your ability to operate fluently across web development, visual design, and emerging AI tooling will be essential in creating a cohesive, scalable, and future-ready digital ecosystem for xFoundry.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience in visual development

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of experience in a hybrid web development and visual design role, with hands-on experience building sites using Webflow or similar platforms
KSA:
a. Strong command of modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and a working understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
b. Experience integrating websites with CMS platforms, APIs, and external services; familiarity with AI-enabled tools is strongly preferred
c. Ability to manage the technical lifecycle of a website from concept to launch and ongoing maintenance, balancing creativity with technical constraints
d. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with marketing, technical, and leadership stakeholders under deadline-driven conditions

Physical Demands:
Sedentary work performed in a normal office environment; exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Ability to attend meetings both on and off campus.
