Salary: This position has a salary of around $53,000.
Start Date: School Year 2025/2026

SUMMARY: The IDEA Curriculum Coordinator plans and coordinates the development of curriculum objectives for grades 3-12 Special Education as well as generally oversees the development, implementation and assessment of teacher developed customized lessons, activities, assessments and tools for these grades.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Coordinates the development of curriculum objectives for grades 3-12 Special Education; Monitors the implementation and evaluation of these objectives;
  • Plans and monitors teacher development and implementation of customized lessons, activities, assessments and tools for these grades including special populations;
  • Evaluates effectiveness of the material;
  • Supports course audits ensuring alignment to state standards.
  • Develops and aligns curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials to state standards 
  • Ensures instructional programs meet all state and federal guidelines, including those for special populations (e.g., GT, ELL, Special Education). 
  • Collaborates with teachers and administrators to design formative and summative assessments. 
  • Mentors/acts as a resource to teachers by providing expertise and ongoing support; Conducts curriculum meetings as required; 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   
  • Three (3) years of teaching experience
  • Curriculum Design experience
  • Working knowledge of Texas state standards (TEKS)
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Master's degree in Curriculum
  • Experience developing curriculum and assessment
  • Experience with building High Quality Instructional Materials for the classroom
  • Project Management experience
  • Experience teaching or leading in an online setting
