Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Leads a team of information technologists within an academic or administrative unit of the School of Medicine.
  • Manages the day-to-day activities and supervises staff.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and point of escalation within a technological domain or service.
  • May manage projects and budgets.
  • Facilitates the design and solutions to support faculty, staff, and students. Collaborates with other groups within the University.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or a related field and five years of information technology or systems support experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of hands-on IT asset management experience within a complex or decentralized environment (higher education, healthcare, or enterprise preferred).
  • Experience administering Axonius or similar ITAM/CAASM solutions such as Armis, Lansweeper, and Qualys for comprehensive asset discovery, inventory management, and compliance reporting.
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware lifecycle management, including inventory tracking, refresh planning, standards enforcement, and reconciliation of endpoints.
  • Direct experience with E-Surplus or asset disposal workflows, including tagging, decommissioning, and compliance for university or government-managed surplus programs.
  • Experience supporting storage environments including monitoring, capacity planning, and access management.
  • Familiarity with software licensing management, including renewal cycles, auditing, and vendor coordination
  • Prior experience in system administration (Windows , Mac or Linux), backup management, or endpoint support strongly preferred.
  • Security Tools Expertise: Hands-on experience managing data within ServiceNow, BeyondTrust, Tenable, and CrowdStrike platforms for enhanced security operations and vulnerability management.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills, including the ability to maintain dashboards, monthly reports, and audit-ready inventory records.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with distributed IT teams, departments, faculty, and central OIT groups within a large research or academic environment.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
