Join our team as the expert you are now and create your future.We are looking for a Sr Instructional Designer with learning technology expertise to join our commercial eLearning product team within the Healthcare Consulting Business Unit of Huron’s Healthcare division. In this role, you will design innovative, human-centered learning experiences that elevate workforce performance primarily in the healthcare industry. As a Sr Instructional Designer, you will collaborate with our design team to develop commercial-grade, interactive eLearning content for our collection products hosted on the Huron Learning Digital Platform (HLDP). We currently offer seven core collections: Leadership Development, Physician Leadership, Bedside Nurse Development, Patient Experience, Workforce Playbook, Revenue Cycle, and Change Management and Leadership. This role is key in helping us develop more offerings as we are in a growth mode for this product. 

You will also be responsible for establishing governance and standards of practice to optimize our use of the Absorb Learning Management System. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings deep instructional design expertise, and can translate complex information into engaging, results-driven learning experiences with a strong customer focus and a keen eye for detail and process. 

This is an exciting opportunity to help grow and innovate with our team as we take our digital learning product to the next level. The role requires strong project management and curriculum development skills, as you will be leading the revision and growth of assigned collections aligned to the product vision and roadmap.
As the Sr Instructional Designer on the Product Team, you will:   
  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of innovative eLearning solutions—from concept through completion 
  • Design and develop interactive learning activities, assessments, and multimedia elements that enhance learner engagement 
  • Demonstrate superior communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and convey complex ideas clearly 
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews with a sharp eye for graphic design, user experience, and adherence to commercial eLearning standards 
  • Partner with subject matter experts, product delivery managers, and developers to craft effective learning strategies 
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create impactful digital content 
  • Develop detailed storyboards, scripts, and prototypes to guide course production and secure stakeholder approval 
  • Ensure alignment of learning objectives with business goals and the needs of diverse learner populations 
  • Explore and apply emerging trends and technologies in eLearning to keep our solutions fresh and future-focused 
  • Mentor junior instructional designers and contribute to ongoing process improvement across the design team 
  • Project manage design and development work using iterative design framework to create new content, updating existing content, and conduct routine maintenance for assigned collections 
 
Requirements:    
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field (Master's preferred) 
  • 5+ years of curriculum development and eLearning design experience that demonstrates deep knowledge of adult learning principles and an understanding of a professional audience 
  • Experience with LMS administration (Absorb LMS experience preferred) and learning technology adoption best practices  
  • Expert knowledge of Articulate360 (Rise and Storyline), Camtasia or Adobe Premier Pro, and other authoring tools required 
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to excel and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment 
  • Dedicated to iterative design focused on the voice of the customer and healthcare trends 
  • eLearning Portfolio for review with diverse learning assets  
  • US Work Authorization required 
 
Preferences:   
  • Experience in consulting and/or healthcare strongly preferred 
  • Commercial eLearning development experience  
  • Familiarity with video production and multimedia development

The estimated base salary range for this job is $105,000 - $145,000.  The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy.  Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $120,750 - $181,250. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
