Job Description:
The Learning Technology Specialist, Senior (LTSS) applies expertise in instructional technology systems and information technology to lead the onboarding of new learning technologies to the Digital Learning Platform (DLP). The LTSS manages relationships with technology partners, and ASU Enterprise Technology (ASU ET) information technology personnel to ensure the timely and accurate implementation of new learning technologies. The LTSS manages relationships with ASU ET information technology personnel and ensures the proper installation of new technologies. The LTSS assists faculty and staff in the effective implementation and use of educational technology systems managed by ASU Online. The LTSS supports software, hardware, devices, and tools for creating digital media and content. The LTSS provides a range of services, which include help desk support, customized training, user documentation and consulting services designed and tailored to meet the needs of the ASU Online Instructional Design team. The LTSS works collaboratively with the ASU Online Instructional Design team to plan, test, and implement new technologies, as well as tracking trends and new technologies in the field and recommending opportunities to employ new tools and approaches to meet user needs.

Essential Duties:
Consults with technology partners to ensure the appropriate application of information security practices and safeguarding of student data.
Collaborates with information technology personnel and ensures the proper onboarding and installation of new technologies to the university learning management system (LMS).
Maintains up-to-date documentation of information security documents of technology partners.
Provides instructional technology support to staff and faculty, including technical suggestions and recommendations, and creating course shells for online programs
Identifies and troubleshoots errors/problems with the LMS and third-party web applications.
Develop and maintains training and documentation/materials to support the Instructional Design teams.
Works with ASU ET to maintain technology integrations.
Remains abreast of technology directions, initiatives, and trends within scope of expertise to provide ideas, guidance, and recommendations.
Participates as either leader or team member in a wide variety of projects to develop and improve routine procedures through use of innovative and technology supported solutions and prepares associated documentation and end-user training.
Identifies and troubleshoots errors and issues with web-based applications, works collaboratively with involved stakeholders to facilitate timely resolution, escalates as appropriate.
Works closely with a team in a small, fast-paced, creative environment.

Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree in instructional design or a closely related field
Skills in creating and editing basic HTML web pages
Ability to use and manage current learning and content management systems technology (e.g., Canvas, Moodle, Learning Studio, Blackboard, WordPress).
Competency with ChatGPT or similar AI tools.
Skill in remediating course materials to meet accessibility standards.
Ability to build working relationships with faculty, administrators, students.
Ability to evaluate emerging technologies for potential value in online teaching and learning.
Ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion.
Ability to provide technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff in a higher ed environment.
Knowledge of latest trends related to educational technology.
Skill in managing course enrollment and access requests and issues.
Ability to create Microsoft PowerPoint and/or apple Keynote Presentations.
Skill in creating and editing images using Photoshop or other image-editing software.
Skill in delivering content using web-based media sharing sites.
Working Environment:
Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required.
