Job Summary
The Instructional Designer collaborates with faculty and staff to support instructional design, course development and delivery of online and technology-mediated courses. Instructional design principles and practices will be used to improve teaching while addressing the demand for accountability and assessment. The Instructional Designer will help instructors effectively use technology, manage instructional projects, and oversee copyright and intellectual property issues. This position reports to the Lead Instructional Designer.
To be successful, you will need to have a strong educational and pedagogical background, excellent customer service skills, and possess the ability to use collaboration techniques to effectively work with individuals and teams with diverse personalities.
Note: This position will require you to be on-campus during the initial probationary/training period before options of a hybrid work schedule (combination of working on-campus and from home) become available.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related area.Ten (10) years of work experience in instructional design, program or course development, educational technology integration or areas related to the position.Course development experience within a learning management system.Experience teaching or learning in the online environment.Strong research, analytical, and technical skills in executing a variety of multimedia and web applications.Strong team and customer orientation and successful experience developing skills in others.Experience interpreting student and instructor needs to produce effective instructional materials and technologies to support teaching and learning.Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with and understand the needs of others.Strong organizational skills with project team leadership experience, flexible, and good work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in higher education.Experience with educators on a variety of approaches to teaching and learning and in a variety of curricular areas.Online teaching certifications or equivalent.Demonstrated project team leadership experience.A basic understanding of digital accessibility, copyright law, and other regulatory aspects relevant to distance learning.Experience with artificial intelligence and other emerging digital technologies.
