Instructional Support Specialists facilitate change in teacher practice so they can diagnose student needs more analytically, plan more productively, and teach more effectively. Creating trusting and growth-focused relationships, coaches collaborate with principals to align instructional practices with school goals.
This is a part-time position (1-2 day/wk) in Philadelphia non-public schools.
Compensation starts at $65/hr.

Responsibilities

How you’ll do it:
  • Conduct model lessons, classroom observations, provide "next step" support for teachers
  • Support teachers with classroom management techniques, provide resources, techniques, and toolkits
  • Support classroom teachers by co-planning or co-teaching then reflecting and debriefing together
  • Provide leadership, support, and assistance to all classroom teachers for skillful instruction 
  • Understand and support the Danielsen Framework
  • Assist teachers in building an interactive classroom environment focused on the content and learning strategies embedded in the curricular programs
  • Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement 
  • Assist schools with their understanding of student achievement goals using available baseline/historical testing data
  • Assist schools with identifying, planning, and undertaking appropriate "next steps teaching" for groups of students as indicated by the assessment process
  • Complete all Catapult Learning paperwork and virtual documentation in the timeframe designated by the Supervisor
  • Lead interactive professional development workshops when needed.
  • Maintain documentation of work with teachers using Catapult Learning's proprietary system 
  • Support preparation and pacing of instruction to ensure state standards are being met and are in alignment with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia

Qualifications

What we’ll need from you:
  • Valid PA Instructional II teaching certificate
  • Master's degree in education or related field
  • Knowledge of Curriculum programs 
  • At least two years' experience as a Curriculum Coach (or similar position)
  • 5 years’ experience teaching
  • Experience working or teaching in a high school setting
  • Excellent research, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently
  • Must have advanced proficiencies with Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn new software.
