Instructional Systems Designer Full Description

Overview: 
Instructional Systems Designer (JXNQ 2026-24984):
 
Bowhead is seeking a highly motivated Instructional Systems Designer to support a proposal effort for the Weapons Systems Training Branch at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing high-quality, mission-focused training solutions for advanced weapon systems used by the U.S. Navy and other defense stakeholders.
 
 Responsibilities: 
Essential functions include: 
  • Provide instruction/operational training to military personnel on new equipment or newly modified equipment. Training is to be provided for Active Duty Military of those supporting the Active Military units.
  • Provide instructional support for the technical inspection, field maintenance, field technical inspection, train the trainer, repair or on-the-job training of various types of
    equipment.
  • Interact on a daily basis with engineers and technicians to document operation as well as maintenance and repair procedures for equipment.
  • Instruction shall be provided at military bases in CONUS and OCONUS locations. CONUS locations include all military bases in the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. OCONUS locations are currently in Iraq, Kuwait, Djibouti, Syria, Somalia, Niger, Qatar, and possible other locations to be determined.
 
Qualifications: 
  • High School diploma and five plus (5+) instructional development experience.
  • More than 3 years of experience developing CBTs and 2 years developing training using Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM)
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
 
Physical Demands: 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically 
 
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
