What We Want
We are seeking an Instructional Technologist to play a key role in elevating hybrid and online learning experiences at Mays Business School. In this position, you’ll empower faculty and students by providing expert support in the Learning Management System (LMS) and related instructional technologies, creating clear knowledge articles and process documentation along the way. You’ll also lead training sessions on lecture capture and video‑streaming tools, developing practical training materials that help others teach and learn with confidence. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending technical know‑how with meaningful impact in an academic setting.

Salary: $50,000/annually

Essential Duties/Tasks
Learning Support
- Maintains and troubleshoots audio-visual technology equipment.
- Acts as a technical resource in video streaming and digital learning software, hardware, and techniques.
- Develops training materials to support faculty effectiveness; refers, advises, or assists faculty in designing materials to support instructional effectiveness.
- Works with others to develop training elements that align with our products and services.
- Develops, maintains, and updates knowledge articles pertaining to our products. Develops and implements faculty training opportunities. Coordinates the delivery of information and assistance to faculty seeking support.
- Provides one-on-one consultation with faculty, staff, and students in the use of tools associated with the learning delivery environment.
Learning Delivery Execution
- Supports faculty during synchronous cohort learning sessions.
- Resolves issues or concerns from students during live, synchronous cohort sessions.
- Manages the digital learning technologies and environment during synchronous cohort sessions.
Project Support
- Manages communications and utilizes excellent time management skills to complete projects.
- Uses project management system to document project progress.
- Maintains documentation for each project.
- Schedules knowledge article projects and defines constraints.
- Conceptualizes visual elements based on requirements.
- Creates outlines, storyboards, workflows, process flows, knowledge articles, etc. as needed to communicate interaction and training ideas.
- Prepares rough drafts and presents ideas to those with and without digital learning background.
- Manages and maintains knowledge library for projects.
Information Awareness
- Follows industry trends through blogs, e-newsletters, and social media.
- Looks for innovative ways to illustrate and share information to the appropriate audiences.
- Keeps track of trends and news in related areas, such as online education, training, and higher education.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience in classroom and online course technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in higher education.
- Experience working with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience providing faculty support.
- Collaborative and considerate style of communication.
- Experience in Leadership or as a Team Lead.
- Project management software experience using Wrike or similar software.
- Experience working multiple projects with different deadlines.
- Technical experience with audio/visual software.
- Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.
- Experience with Panasonic or similar Audio/video equipment software.
- Experience with Sidus or similar Lighting software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Knowledge of a variety of learning management systems.
- Knowledge of software that enhances teaching and learning in a digital learning environment.
- Experience supporting faculty using software that enhances teaching and learning in a digital learning environment.
- Ability to effectively plan and execute projects that make efficient use of resources and meet deadlines.
