Key Responsibilities:
Network Design & Implementation
• Architect, install, configure, and maintain campus-wide network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, wireless access points, and remote access solutions.
• Design and optimize wireless networks for performance, coverage, and reliability using industry best practices and tools.
• Lead or assist with the deployment of next-generation network technologies and cloud-integrated solutions.
Network Support & Monitoring
• Proactively monitor and troubleshoot network components and systems, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
• Provide advanced technical support and diagnostics for routing, switching, VoIP, and network-based application issues.
• Maintain network uptime and performance in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs) and internal standards.
Unified Communications & Telecommunications
• Serve as a technical lead for the college’s unified communications and telephony services, including platform administration, voice systems, and related integrations.
• Support and maintain IP-based telephony and voicemail systems.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders to enhance communications capabilities through unified communications platform integration (voice, video, chat, conferencing).
Documentation & Compliance
• Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for network topology, configuration settings, change logs, and network maps.
• Ensure all network systems comply with applicable cybersecurity standards and data privacy policies.
Project & Operational Support
• Participate in IT projects, including new construction and renovation, disaster recovery planning, capacity management, and cloud service integration.
• Contribute to a collaborative and Agile-based IT team environment to deliver iterative improvements and technical solutions.
• Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule for after-hours incident response.
What We're Looking For:
• Associate’s degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting enterprise or campus-scale network environments.
• Hands-on experience in wireless network architecture and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with unified communications platforms and telephony systems.
• Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs, Spanning Tree).
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Cisco Prime).
• Experience supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux environments from a networking perspective.
• Ability to document complex technical environments and processes clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
• CCNA Routing & Switching or equivalent network certification.
• Certification or demonstrable knowledge in unified communications platforms administration.
• Experience with Cisco and/or Meraki network hardware.
• Experience integrating unified communications platforms with SIP gateways, session border controllers (SBCs), or cloud PSTN providers.
• Familiarity with cloud-integrated network solutions and hybrid infrastructure.
• Experience in Agile project environments.
• Understanding of Zero Trust network architecture and endpoint access control.

Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the hiring manager's discretion. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
