IT Support Technician Full Description

As the IT Support Technician you will play a key role in delivering technical support to employees and ensuring they have the devices, accounts, and permissions they need for their roles. The IT Support Technician is an integral part of our IT team, serving as the first point of contact for technical assistance and maintaining our technology infrastructure across multiple locations.

The IT Support Technician will:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance via ticketing system, as well as via Slack.. This includes triaging requests and determining when escalation is necessary, as well as providing in-person and remote technical support
  • Set up employee workstations with power, data, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, and mice
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain technology and hardware such as laptops, AV equipment, and printers at our AoPS Academy campuses and at our HQ
  • Set up devices, accounts, and permissions for new and transitioning employees. Conduct IT onboarding sessions for new employees
  • Ensure that equipment is returned and accounts & permissions are removed in a timely manner for terminating employees
  • Maintain IT equipment inventory, ensuring equipment functionality and safe disposal of outdated hardware, and communicating when stock is low
  • Perform preventative maintenance and software updates on company devices
  • Complete other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned
  • May travel to build or support remote campuses

The ideal candidate has:

  • Some IT experience and/or completion of IT coursework or certification preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially as relates to customer service
  • Strong team player
  • Familiarity with computer systems and hardware
  • Proficiency with Mac and/or PC operating systems
  • Familiarity with and experience using basic hand tools
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and a genuine interest in advancing within IT
  • Experience with G-Suite, Slack, JumpCloud and Zoom preferred
  • Comfortable with occasional travel to support our campuses
