Description
This position may be based in any of our locations, but our New Orleans, Louisiana location is strongly preferred. The Applications and Training Specialist will report to the Director of Technology. The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $72,000, commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Training Programs: Lead the design, development, and implementation of IT training content using a variety of delivery methods/platforms, leveraging AI tools such as natural language processing (NLP) systems, generative AI platforms, and automated content creation tools to enhance and personalize training experiences.
  • Leadership: Promote emerging technologies that could benefit the firm by helping users understand and incorporate AI, automation, and other tools effectively.
  • Analysis: Analyze Help Desk tickets for patterns to help develop and maintain updated knowledge base documentation for technicians
  • Deliver Training Sessions: Conduct engaging and effective training sessions, for various software applications used within the firm.
  • Assess Training Needs: Collaborate with different departments to identify skill gaps and training requirements, ensuring that training programs are relevant and up to date.
  • Support and Mentorship: Provide ongoing support and mentorship to staff members, fostering a continuous learning environment.
  • Application Support: Subject matter expert for a variety of custom firm applications.
  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Assess the impact of training programs through feedback and performance analysis and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of training activities, attendance, and progress.
  • Provides support for company-wide upgrades and installations of legal applications.
  • Travel: Visit the firm’s offices for training and application projects as required.
  • Other duties assigned by the Director of Technology or CIO.
 

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Education, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: A minimum 5 years proven experience as a Technical Trainer, preferably within the legal industry or a law firm setting.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of legal industry-specific software and technology, including document management systems, time entry solutions, and legal document production applications.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Teaching Skills: Passion for teaching and the ability to engage and inspire learners.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of staff members.
 

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional travel to McGlinchey offices is required.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other computer components.
  • Ability to safely lift and transport items weighing up to 25 lbs.
