About the Role
Elsevier is hiring a Junior Company Counsel to support a wide range of legal and commercial activities, including drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and legal documentation. You'll work closely with the company's compliance and litigation attorneys on compliance investigations and policy development, and support one of the company's sales segments with customer negotiations and transactions.
What You'll Do
  • Draft legal documentation, including contracts from approved templates and contractual provisions, under guidance from senior legal professionals
  • Produce, amend, and format accurate legal documents, letters, reports, presentations, and other business documentation
  • Proofread legal documents to ensure consistency, accuracy, formatting compliance, and correct cross-referencing
  • Review and update clauses across legal templates as needed
  • Support compliance investigations, training development and delivery, and an anti-bribery due diligence program
  • Support legal projects and other initiatives as requested
What You'll Need
  • Experience working within a legal team, in either a law firm or in-house legal environment
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft and review legal documents
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and legal principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
