Description
*This is a field sales role that requires candidates to be located and willing to frequently travel to customers sites within a specific territory in Simi Valley/LA Area. 

Bluum is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented account executive to drive sales of educational products and services within a designated territory. This account executive will have their own accounts in the Simi Valley/LA Area, as well as work in partnership with another account executive to support the LAUSD account.

In this role, you'll be responsible for managing customer accounts, achieving sales and gross profit targets, and fostering strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders in K-12 school districts. This position requires a unique blend of persistence, industry knowledge, and exceptional interpersonal skills to navigate and succeed within large educational institutions.

Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to maximize revenue within an assigned territory, with an emphasis on LAUSD and the LA Area.
    • Proactively manage the entire sales cycle, from pipeline development and forecasting to securing orders and providing outstanding customer service.
    • Identify and develop new business opportunities while expanding revenue within existing accounts.
    • Prepare accurate sales forecasts and budgets, along with progress reports, in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate strong, transparent, and long-lasting relationships with all decision-makers, including high-level district administrators, within customer organizations.
    • Thoroughly understand clients' businesses to provide trusted guidance and support, proactively identifying growth opportunities.
    • Increase market share within all active customers by introducing new offerings and solutions.
    • Attend trade shows and industry events to represent Bluum and network with potential and existing clients.
  • Product Knowledge & Presentations:
    • Perform engaging sales presentations and product demonstrations to effectively promote Bluum's suite of offerings and services.
    • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base of the company's products, services, and the broader educational technology industry.
    • Analyze RFPs and market trends to identify new business opportunities and maximize revenue in key accounts with an emphasis on LAUSD.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Utilize CRM to document the sales process and update account information.
    • Prepare quotes and proposals in accordance with company policy, ensuring healthy gross profit margins while managing customer expectations.
    • Manage and optimize assigned territory to achieve established revenue, share of wallet, business mix, and new customer goals.
  • LAUSD Partnered Account:
    • Partner with a co-assigned sales representative to develop and execute comprehensive account strategies, ensuring alignment on objectives, growth opportunities, and client engagement tactics.
    • Work in tandem to cultivate and expand relationships with key decision-makers across the account, leveraging complementary strengths to deepen client trust and uncover new opportunities.
    • Proactively exchange critical account information, customer insights, and pipeline updates with your sales partner to ensure a unified approach and informed decision-making.
    • Team up to present product demonstrations, deliver strategic proposals, and negotiate deals, ensuring a seamless and consistent client experience.
    • Offer and receive constructive feedback, support each other's sales activities, and jointly troubleshoot challenges to achieve shared revenue and business mix goals.

Education & Skill Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree completed.
  • 2-5 years of sales experience, preferably in K-12 educational sales or technology, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Proven ability to sell, close deals, create value, and manage a large sales pipeline.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a "hunter" mentality, passionate about sales and technology delivery.
  • Proficient in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write standard business communications and convey technical solutions.
  • Exceptional listening skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with excellent follow-through.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Must complete necessary background checks prior to joining.
