Job Description:
Amplify is seeking a full-time Lead Professional Learning Specialist, STEM with a background in teaching, coaching, and/or school leadership to join our Professional Development team and make a nationwide impact on educators and students.
Lead Professional Learning Specialists (Lead PLS) facilitate high-quality professional learning for teachers and school leaders, ensuring they feel confident implementing Amplify STEM programs to drive student success.
In addition, Lead PLS serve as coaches and leaders for a cohort of approximately 20 Professional Learning Specialists (PLS), ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across all engagements.
Essential Responsibilities:
Professional Development Delivery
Develop deep expertise in Amplify STEM programs and associated professional learning offerings
Deliver high-quality remote and onsite professional development approximately two days per week to groups of 30-40 educators
Differentiate facilitation to meet the unique needs and contexts of diverse school and district partners
Manage session logistics and complete all deliverables accurately and on time
Professional Growth & Certification
Participate in paid certification training to become a certified Professional Learning Specialist (if not already certified)
Engage in ongoing professional learning, including observation, coaching, and feedback cycles, to continuously strengthen facilitation practice
Coaching & Team Leadership
Coach and develop a cohort of approximately 20 PLS through observation, debrief cycles, modeling, peer practice, and written and live feedback
Design and implement targeted development plans based on observation data, customer feedback, survey results, and self-reflection
Review post-session survey data regularly (daily during peak season: May-September) to identify trends and provide actionable feedback
Communicate key insights on individual and cohort performance, strengths, and development areas to internal stakeholders
Partner in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new PLS throughout the year
Share insights on customer experience and product implementation with internal teams, including Product and Program teams
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of PreK-12 teaching experience
At least 2 years of experience coaching educators in PreK-12 settings
Strong understanding of adult learning theory and demonstrated application in professional development settings
Deep knowledge of STEM instructional best practices aligned to grade-level standards
Proven ability to facilitate engaging and effective in-person and virtual professional development
Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to navigate ambiguity and respond to customer needs in real time
Strong organizational and time management skills across competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience coaching or training educators using Amplify programs
Experience supporting diverse student populations (e.g., English learners, students with disabilities, gifted learners)
Additional Information:
Travel is an essential function of this role. Expected travel is approximately:
60%+ during peak season (May-September)
20-40% during the school year
Travel may include overnight stays and transportation via car, plane, and/or public transportation, sometimes with limited advance notice.
Travel-related expenses (lodging, meals, mileage, and eligible travel time) are reimbursed and typically processed within 2-3 weeks of submission.
What we offer:
Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
