HL Learn provides professional development programming for the firm’s attorneys and business services personnel. The Learning and Development Coordinator will be primarily responsible for supporting the administrative needs of the team to execute comprehensive training for lawyers and/or business services.

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Provide project management, coordination, and administrative support for HL Learn programs to ensure the program runs smoothly from start to finish. Programs may range in duration from 60 minutes to multiple weeks; Most of these take place in our Washington, DC office. Responsibilities include:
    • Create and monitor timelines and planning documents to ensure all deadlines are met
    • Manage program registration process, including creating and sending invitations from the firm learning management system (LMS), iPublish, and Outlook, as well as tracking attendance and travel bookings
    • Assist with all pre-program logistics such as, scheduling planning meetings; creating Zoom meetings, polls, and groupings for break-out rooms; and administering program technologies (e.g., event app, online materials tools)
    • Draft, print, and organize program materials in collaboration with program leads and onsite printing department
    • Coordinate room bookings, catering, room set-up, equipment and technology for meetings and programs taking place in the DC office
    • Coordinate with internal and external faculty, including scheduling meetings, drafting communications, reviewing presentation materials, and processing expenses
    • Liaise with external vendors such as restaurants, hotels, and travel agents to coordinate dinners, accommodations, and travel requirements
    • Support onsite program logistics, including program set up, running the registration desk, and liaising with catering, conference services, and IT teams
    • Serve as a point of contact to participants attending programming in the DC office
    • Create, circulate, and consolidate program evaluations
  • Research best practices on learning tools, new vendors, and other cutting edge resources 
  • Create and edit department PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and other documents for learning and development initiatives (e.g., brochures, newsletter, learning resources, stakeholder reports and presentations)
  • Provide general administrative support to the department
  • May provide project management and administrative support for the development of eLearning content in the LMS
  • All members of the firm are expected to participate in our Responsible Business program
  • All other duties as may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with professional development and/or event/meeting planning strongly preferred
  • Strong relationship and customer service skills
  • Proven competence in software applications including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, MS Teams; and adept at learning other department technologies (e.g., Cornerstone, SurveyMonkey, Mentimeter)
  • Strong skills and creativity in developing engaging PowerPoint graphics/slides for presentations
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Positive can-do and self-motivated work ethic
  • Prepared to work in a fast-paced, professional office setting
  • Can manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Excels at working both independently and collaboratively with others
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Easily applies analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Can troubleshoot issues and initiate projects to improve processes
  • Willingness to travel outside of geographic area, as needed for onsite program support

HOURS
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including one hour for lunch, with overtime as needed for program support.

The annualized salary range for this position is $56,000 to $75,000 depending on the candidate's overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.  In addition, full time employees as well as some part time employees, will be eligible for the firm’s fringe benefits as they currently exists.
