Learning and Development Lead

CFC has a need for a Learning & Development Lead to join the Human Resources team. This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work at our headquarters office in Sterling, VA, as well as optional remote workdays. The Learning & Development Lead oversees the implementation of the corporate learning and development strategy, as well as the Learning Management System, to effectively support CFC’s efforts to attract, retain and develop a highly skilled talent pool that meets CFC's operational and strategic objectives. Plays an integral part on the Human Resources team providing support for Employee Communications, Performance Management, Orientation, Succession Planning and Employee Engagement programs.
As the Learning & Development Lead, you will:
• Create, develop and implement training and development programs in a collaborative, professional team environment.
• Develop employee training curricula, leadership development programs, succession planning and employee engagement efforts including workplace and community service programs.
• Lead training sessions and use various teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure engagement while incorporating the best practices.
• Oversee the administration of learning management system to ensure up to date content, approvals, registrations and reporting.
• Support projects and tasks across entire HR function.
• Advise employees and managers on issues such as career development, performance management, HR policy and practice interpretation and other general HR issues.
• Ensure effective employee communications to include employee intranet content development and updates, new hire orientation, training newsletter and updates.
• Manage corporate training and development budget and make recommendations for training.
• Analyze complex HR reports, provide detailed synopsis, and make recommendations to management.
To be successful, you will need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. Degree or courses in training, development and/or human resources preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources with at least 4 years of employee training and development experience.
• HR or training certification preferred.
• Experience working with SharePoint and Cornerstone or other learning management systems preferred.
• Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and exhibit professional demeanor with all levels of employees.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products including intermediate level skills in Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook skills.
• Advanced ability to lead employee training, development, succession planning and employee engagement programs.
• Advanced knowledge of learning management SaaS platforms.
• Advanced learning styles and strategies knowledge.
