Learning and Development Specialist Full Description

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Headlight. We are currently looking for a Learning and Development Specialist in California (USA), Colorado (USA), Oregon (USA), Texas (USA), Utah (USA).

This role offers the opportunity to shape impactful learning experiences in a fast-growing, mission-driven healthcare environment. You'll be at the center of onboarding and professional development initiatives, ensuring new team members feel confident and supported from day one. Working cross-functionally with clinical, operational, and technical teams, you'll deliver systems training, maintain the LMS, and facilitate interactive sessions. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone eager to grow in L&D while improving processes that support both patients and clinicians.

Accountabilities:
  • Coordinate and support onboarding logistics including scheduling, calendar invites, and communications.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to update and improve operational and clinical training materials.
  • Act as the go-to contact for questions related to LMS access, course completion, and onboarding requirements.
  • Facilitate engaging virtual training sessions with a strong emphasis on systems training and employee readiness.
  • Manage the LMS by uploading content, tracking learner progress, generating reports, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with new hires to assess progress, resolve concerns, and provide targeted support.
  • Lead live walkthroughs of EHR and clinical tools, helping team members navigate key workflows and processes.
  • Continuously refine and enhance training effectiveness based on feedback and performance outcomes.
  • Perform other duties related to training delivery and learning support as assigned.

Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in L&D, training, or curriculum development.
  • Background in customer service, project coordination, or technical support with a focus on end-user training.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage audiences of varying skill levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience delivering live training sessions virtually or in person.
  • Comfortable learning new tools and systems, with the ability to explain them clearly to others.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS); proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Teams and Outlook.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a learner-first mindset.
  • Preferred but not required: experience with EHRs (NextGen, Epic, etc.), instructional design tools (Articulate, Canva, etc.), and exposure to healthcare, tech, or startup environments.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and learning data analysis is a plus.
