POSITION SUMMARY: Implements and supports all aspects of the Association’s Learning and Development programs and participates in their design and continuous improvement. Administers learning and development solutions at an organization wide level. Measures and reports on the effectiveness of programs and initiatives.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL, BASIC, AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION. HOWEVER, THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT. THESE FUNCTIONS ARE NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF ALL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • Participates in the design, implementation and administration of the Association’s Learning and Development program, including the Association’s Leadership Development program: course administration and production, leadership assessments, Individual Development Plans, department experiences and work projects.
  • Schedules and facilitates ongoing onsite, virtual or hybrid learning events including learning lunches, New Employee Orientation and New Leader Orientation, leadership development programs, compliance and mandatory learning, certifications, designations, and hybrid learning business skills programs.  Act as a producer as needed for SME delivered content and learning events.
  • Measure program effectiveness, including course evaluations and feedback from participants and managers.
  • Oversees the insurance designations sponsorship program including approving Professional Development Incentives. 
  • Administers the learning management system. Organizes course content and curriculums. Monitors and reports on learning utilization.
  • Coordinates communication and promotion initiatives related to Learning and Development offerings.  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Strong program management skills and attention to details for seamless planning and execution of learning programs.
  • Current knowledge of learning technologies and trends, current practices and blended program design techniques for improved learning and development effectiveness.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with agility and flexibility.
  • Ability to mediate resolutions to problems within and across department lines to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Ability to work equally effectively in team-based environments as well as on tasks which require high levels of initiative, autonomy and independent thought and action.
  • Ability to plan and execute work with high level of autonomy and ownership.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office skills and ability to produce deliverables in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, that carry a "stamp of excellence".

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  
  • A bachelor's degree in related field or a minimum of five years of Learning and development experience.
  • 3 years of minimum relevant experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • CPLP, SPHR. SHRM-SP or other Learning and Development or Human Resources certifications or designations
  • Experience in learning content design
  • Experience in course facilitation of business, leadership or other topics 
  • Knowledge of learning techniques for effective facilitation, interactivity, and engagement.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires the ability to speak, hear, and use a personal computer for standard business communications and the ability to lift to 15 pounds.
