The Learning and Development Manager assists with change management and organizational development initiatives and implements short- and long-term learning programs that support a healthy culture and enable a high-performing, mission-focused organization. 

This position leads a team of learning and development professionals and partners cross-functionally to deliver impactful, strategic learning experiences that align with organizational goals.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the development, delivery, and evaluation of core learning, orientation, and compliance training programs, including online, instructor-led, and blended learning for professional and managerial staff.
  • Manage a team of learning and development professionals focused on delivering a high level of service, training support, and subject matter expertise to organizational stakeholders.
  • Lead learning initiatives focused on onboarding, organizational culture, and competency building through individual and group training and development.
  • Manage the organization’s high-potential development program (Emerging Leaders Development Program), including oversight of design, facilitation, cohort management, and alignment with the career development strategy.
  • Provide support for the implementation and analysis of organizational surveys and assessments.
  • Assist with change management and organizational development initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leadership and other stakeholders in the development of short- and long-term learning strategies that support current and emerging business needs.
  • Manage the design and delivery of organizational applications training using multimedia and eLearning authoring tools.
  • Apply creative approaches and instructional methodologies to the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning content (e.g., custom eLearning, video, and simulation).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand content and learning requirements and produce storyboards and other design documents to support the development process.
  • Manage training and compliance content in the organization’s Learning Management System (in partnership with IT), and ensure proper tracking and reporting of learning transcript completion.
  • Conduct analysis on training effectiveness, maintain appropriate metrics, and recommend improvements to existing programs as necessary.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate the transfer of learning and behavioral outcomes using tools such as pre-/post-assessments, observation checklists, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Assist with managing the annual learning and development budget and the selection of consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain connections to relevant professional organizations and awareness of industry trends.
  • Attend and actively participate in required training and/or meetings, including but not limited to New Teammate Orientation, WWP Cares, ASIST Suicide Prevention training, Leadership training, culture/team based training, or departmental huddles.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
Requirements
  • Seven years of experience designing and implementing broad scale instructor-led, technology-based, and blended learning programs and initiatives.
  • Three years of informal leadership or formal staff management experience.
Preferences
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS).
  • Experience supporting or leading leadership development programs and high-potential programs.
  • Experience designing and executing learning measurement strategies.

EDUCATION
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Preferences
  • Master’s degree.

  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) Certification.
  • Certified DiSC Facilitator.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
