Learning and Performance Consultant, Wealth Management Learning and Development, Fulltime/Hybrid, New York City, Springfield or Boston
The Opportunity
Join our team as a highly experienced, Learning and Performance Consultant to lead strategic learning initiatives that elevate financial advisor performance, client experience, and organizational capability within MassMutual Wealth Management, a key growth area and strategic priority for the organization. This role partners with senior leaders, compliance, financial advisors, and business units to design and implement learning strategies that drive measurable business outcomes in a highly regulated, client-centric environment.
The Team
You will join a close-knit Wealth Management Learning and Development team, working with Learning and Performance Consultants and others to develop and maintain comprehensive learning and development programs.
The Impact
You will have a significant impact on the Wealth Management organization by
- Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Wealth Management, influencing them on educational decisions and strategies.
- Conducting performance needs assessments to identify capability gaps and recommend targeted learning and non-learning interventions.
- Aligning learning strategies with business goals such as net new asset growth, client retention, regulatory compliance, and advisor productivity.
- Designing, developing, and implementing engaging and interactive online learning modules and reference guides.
- Working in conjunction with other LOBs, corporate divisions, and the field to leverage existing learning and non-learning solutions.
- Integrating learning into the flow of work using digital platforms, microlearning, and performance support tools.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
- Supporting change initiatives such as new product launches, technology platform rollouts, and regulatory updates through learning and communication strategies.
- Managing and participating in project work.
- Handling complex long-term focused projects involving multiple disciplines or business units.
- Working independently and with management on highly visible, divisional and cross-divisional complex projects.
- Being sought as a key resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems.
- Driving continuous improvement and efficiencies beyond own scope of responsibility.
- Managing RFP and contract negotiations for new vendors.
- Acting as back-up to manager for analysis, project meetings and training initiatives.
- Employing use of the Learning Management System to deploy and manage training.
- Coaching and mentoring training staff about needs analysis, instructional design, and e-learning tools.
- You will operate with a client service mindset. You thrive in the absence of rules or established methods, take charge in the face of challenges and difficulties, and comfortably switch gears and alter course to adapt to changing circumstances.
The Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in a corporate training environment.
- 5+ years of experience with performance consulting and instructional design methodologies.
- 3+ years of experience utilizing the Articulate training authoring tool
- 5+ years of Microsoft PowerPoint design and writingexperience.
- Due to the nature of this position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA.
The Ideal Qualifications
- Certification in instructional design or a related field.
- Familiarity with online learning tools such as Brainshark, Camtasia, and Vimeo.
- Working knowledge of Learning Management System administration.
- Graphic design, information design, iconography, or art background a plus.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in the Financial Services / Wealth Management sector.
- FINRA Series 6 or Series 7 a plus.
