ABOUT THE ROLE
At HUB International, the Learning Design Manager leads a team of ~10 learning design and development professionals to create innovative learning experiences that enable successful technology adoption across HUB's 20,000+ employees. Reporting to the Director of Learning and Change Enablement, this role drives technology mastery through comprehensive learning strategies aligned with organizational transformation goals.

Primary Responsibilities and Activities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of learning designers across a portfolio of initiatives, fostering a culture of user-first thinking.
  • Build team capabilities in instructional design principles and emerging learning technologies.
  • Design comprehensive learning strategies for technology implementations, applying adult learning principles to create multi-modal solutions including e-learning, instructor-led training, microlearning, and performance support tools, seeking ways to create immersive experiences using simulation and scenario-based training.
  • Establish and manage processes to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Manage a portfolio of ~20 concurrent learning projects ensuring quality, user-focused, and on-time delivery.
  • Implement agile methodologies, monitor risks, and coordinate with Change Enablement team on integrated initiatives.
  • Oversee LMS administration for Technology & Operations.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand learning and business needs, present strategies to leadership, and demonstrate learning ROI through data analytics and performance metrics.

Job Requirements
  • 7+ years progressive experience in instructional design and adult learning theory with 3+ years in leadership
  • Proven track record supporting users through successful large-scale technology transformations in complex organizations.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field also preferred.
  • Deep expertise in instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Agile) and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms, authoring tools (Articulate, Adobe, Camtasia, Canva), virtual classroom technologies, and learning analytics.
  • Strong project management skills.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to navigate organizational politics.
  • Capability to influence at all levels without formal authority.
  • Resilience in managing ambiguity and complexity.
  • Background in technology implementations (ERP, CRM, digital transformation).
  • Experience in insurance or financial services industry desired.

Working Conditions
Travel required: 10% travel.
