Job Description

Your Role
The Provider Education team develops and delivers training and education to ensure Blue Shield’s contracted providers are willing and capable of delivering a high-quality member experience. The Learning Developer, Consultant is a senior Instructional Design position reporting to the Senior Program Manager, Provider Education. In this role, you will partner with business and functional subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and launch training for Blue Shield of California’s contracted providers using a variety of delivery methods including live webinars, downloadable job aids, eLearning, and video.

Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:
  • Consult with internal business partners to propose training strategies that fit their business goals and the training team’s available resources
  • Apply sound instructional design strategies and adult learning methodology and work closely with SMEs to design and develop training materials on a variety of contextual and procedural, clinical and non-clinical topics 
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify knowledge/skill strengths and gaps across provider networks and internal business units to inform audience, content, and mode of delivery
  • Design and develop webinar presentation decks, print-based job aids, technical user guides, eLearning modules, and video demonstrations for Blue Shield strategic programs and regulatory requirements across all lines of business
  • Present or host educational live webinars to external provider audiences (100+) and occasionally to internal staff, including leadership
  • Lead and attend cross-functional meetings as necessary for training strategy, content gathering, materials review, and planning purposes
  • Proactively work to identify collaboration opportunities between Blue Shield teams engaged in complementary training and performance support efforts
  • Test and publish eLearning modules for delivery over the web and Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Work with the LMS administrator to leverage new features of the LMS as they become available to improve user experience
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships across all business units
  • Interact with senior management and executive levels to develop and maintain trusted and trusting relationships

Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires a college degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires 7 years of prior relevant experience, instructional design experience is preferred 
  • 2+ years of experience working with Articulate Storyline 360 is preferred
  • Proficiency using TechSmith Camtasia is preferred 
  • Proficiency using Microsoft office suite, particularly PowerPoint is preferred
  • Experience hosting or presenting webinars using Webex or similar platform is preferred
  • Experience working with an LMS is preferred
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred
  • Broad knowledge of project management
  • Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to set timelines
  • Ability to manage complex projects involving delegation of work and review of deliverables
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
