Join Blue Shield’s dynamic Enterprise Learning organization, where we develop learning solutions to ensure employees can perform their jobs, enable the business to further our mission, and serve as a strategic partner to talent mobility through innovative learning strategies and solutions. The Learning Developer, Senior role will report to the Manager of Learning Development.
Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Work with clients to assess learning needs and build learning requirements and learning plans for moderate-to-complex learning solutions
- Design and develop moderate-to-complex self-paced multimedia eLearning and online reference materials, including multimedia assets such as audio, video, images, text and animation
- Create technical and business skill assessments
- Perform quality assurance testing on self-paced courses
- Develop knowledge articles, guides, and other reference materials to support projects and team operations
- Create instructor-led training materials with hands-on exercises for live virtual training
- Work with subject matter experts to learn complex processes and systems quickly, so you can create clear, engaging content
- Create interactive system simulations
- Use your advanced knowledge of instructional design and adult learning theory to determine appropriate learning solutions for a variety of learner types with varying skill levels
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires experience and proficiency in e-learning development (Articulate Storyline preferred)
- Requires experience using graphics programs such as SnagIt; audio programs such as Adobe Audition and animation programs such as Vyond preferred but not required
- Requires experience creating interactive system simulations
- Requires experience creating instructor-led training materials with hands-on exercises
- Requires excellent writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Two Ways of Working:
- Hybrid (Default): Work from a business unit-approved office at least two (2) times per month (for roles below Director-level) or once per week (for Director-level roles and above). Exceptions:
o Member-facing and approved out-of-state roles remain remote.
o Employees living more than 50 miles from their assigned offices are expected to work with their managers on a plan for periodic office visits.
o For employees with medical conditions that may impact their ability to work in-office, we are committed to engaging in an interactive process and providing reasonable accommodations to ensure their work environment is conducive to their success and well-being.
- On-Site: Work from a business unit-approved office an average of four (4) or more days a week.
Physical Requirements:
Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
