Position Overview:
We are seeking a Learning Specialist to join our New Employee Experience team, where they will play a pivotal role in shaping onboarding strategy and execution. This position requires end-to-end ownership of bi-weekly orientation programming and other new hire learning solutions, with a focus on driving operational excellence and learner impact.
The Specialist will independently lead full-cycle planning and delivery of both virtual and in-person sessions, ensuring seamless logistics, high-quality production, and strategic alignment with onboarding goals. They will also proactively collaborate with partners and stakeholders to resolve issues and elevate the onboarding experience to a consumer-grade standard.
In addition, the Specialist will contribute to the strategic development and implementation of our Peer Learning Community, and support facilitation efforts as needed to maintain engagement and continuity across learning environments. Ideal candidates will bring program or event management expertise, a sharp attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex, fast-paced environments autonomously. A passion for Learning and Development and a drive to influence onboarding outcomes are essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Independently lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of bi-weekly orientation programming and a monthly speaker series, ensuring strategic alignment with onboarding goals, timely delivery of milestones, and adherence to budget parameters.
- Own and manage all communications related to orientation programming— including welcome emails, inbox oversight, and event messaging—ensuring a seamless and engaging learner experience.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, stakeholders, and learners, proactively resolving issues and driving a high-quality, consumer-grade onboarding experience.
- Help to facilitate virtual and in-person learning sessions, autonomously managing production elements such as breakout room coordination, attendance tracking, and interactive tool deployment (polls, videos, Q&A) to optimize learner engagement.
- Design and oversee the peer facilitator program, including recruitment, training, and ongoing engagement of cross-functional volunteers who support orientation delivery.
- Administer and analyze data through Learning Management Systems and event surveys, ensuring accurate reporting and actionable insights that inform onboarding strategy.
- Conduct independent audits and assessments of learning solutions against defined metrics, implementing enhancements that improve operational efficiency and learning outcomes, and tracking the impact of these improvements over time.
Requirements and Minimum Education Level:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, learning and development, training and capacity building, organizational development, client consulting, event management, and/or talent management roles.
Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage programs and events, including planning, stakeholder engagement, and execution, with a focus on driving strategic outcomes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, learner-focused messaging across multiple channels.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, leveraging tools to streamline learning operations and enhance delivery efficiency.
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and a proactive interest in applying digital tools to improve learner experience and scalability.
- Confident presenter with the ability to facilitate engaging sessions or a strong desire to develop facilitation expertise.
- Skilled in translating complex concepts into intuitive process flows, enabling clarity and consistency in learning design and execution.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure alignment and successful outcomes, while maintaining ownership of deliverables.
- Creative problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity and pressure to deliver effective solutions.
- Comfortable piloting new approaches and iterating based on feedback, contributing to continuous improvement in onboarding and learning strategy.
