Job Summary:
The Director serves as the Facility General Manager of a multi-million dollar Technology Hub consisting of state-of-the art training, technology research and remote Technical Support operations, and meeting facilities for internal/external events. 
 
This role includes setting the Technical Research & Support strategy for the company, overseeing the planning and day-to-day operations for a world-class training center and coordinating Marketing, Sales and Customer activities.
 
Initial responsibilities will entail planning, buildout and startup of physical infrastructure. Ongoing accountabilities will involve training/event management, facilities management, Technical Research & Support strategy and operations.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Training Facilities: Manage the technical infrastructure and coordinate utilization of training facilities.
  • Strategy: Create and deploy an overall business plan for the Technology Hub, including utilization metrics, operating cost and development of revenue streams.
  • Marketing/Branding: Partner with Marketing and HR/Recruiting on facility appearance and use to help “market” Voltyx to both customers and job seekers/candidates.
  • Technical Support (customer): Facilitate Customer Solutions efforts and similar Technical Lab initiatives. Coordinate customer events/activities with the Sales and Operations departments.
  • Technical Support (internal): Oversee virtual/remote technical support for Voltyx Field Technicians. Includes using technologies to provide real-time remote troubleshooting and mentoring.
  • Thought Leadership: Research, develop approach and lead the organization into the next generation of remote technical support capabilities (AR/AI/VR, etc.). Stay current on emerging technologies and disseminate to applicable parts of the organization.

 Qualifications: 
  • Direct experience with Facilities Management (preferably training facilities) is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, Learning or a related field. Masters/MBA a plus.
  • Some technical knowledge of the Power Industry.
  • Some exposure to Technology based research & support.
