BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Learning & Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating learning programs that enhance associate performance, engagement, and career growth. This role partners with stakeholders across the organization to identify learning needs, develop strategic solutions, and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct learning needs assessments across departments to identify performance gaps and development opportunities.
  • Manage the end-to-end development and delivery lifecycle for new learning programs, including timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and HR partners, building collaborative relationships to understand strategic business challenges and co-create effective solutions.
  • Source, curate, and adapt high-quality learning materials from internal and external sources. Ensure all content is relevant, inclusive, and aligned with current best practices.
  • Develop metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure learning program effectiveness. Use data-driven insights to iterate and improve offerings, demonstrating return on investment.
  • Champion the use of learning technologies, including learning management systems (LMS), mobile platforms, social learning tools, and virtual collaboration environments.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop and/or curate content tailored to business goals.
  • Coordinate delivery of key programs through the LMS, including registration, completion and progress tracking.
  • Support leadership development initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of learning and professional growth across the organization.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive learning strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Design engaging and effective learning experiences using instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
  • Create blended learning programs (e.g., e-learning, instructor-led training, workshops, coaching).
  • Stay current with industry trends and integrate innovative learning technologies and methodologies.
  • Track and report on learning metrics, ROI, and associate development outcomes.
  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSCs vision and unity of purpose.
  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS
What You Need:
  • Bachelors degree in human resources, Education, Organizational Development, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in learning and development, with a focus on program design and facilitation or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide learning initiatives and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in digital learning platforms, tools, and technologies.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, or similar).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
  • Experience in change management and organizational development.

Bonus Points If You Have:
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with the use of AI to support learning and development (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Design Thinking/Human Centered Design Principles (preferred)
  • Certification in Learning & Development or training (e.g., CPLP, ATD, SHRM) is a plus

  • A valid drivers license may be required.
  • Position requires up to 20% travel.
 
Compensation starting at $63420 - $99660 depending on experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidates relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
