Job Description
Symetra is seeking a Learning Technology and eLearning Specialist to join our Talent Development Team!
About the role
In this role, you will design and deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts, training specialists, and managers to assess learning needs and apply instructional design principles. This role balances LMS administration with content development, ensuring a seamless and impactful learner experience. Your work will focus on driving knowledge transfer, measurable outcomes, and long-term employee growth.
What you will do
- Learning Technology
- Administer and optimize our learning technology (LMS, and Talent Intelligence Platform) to support scalable, user-friendly learning experiences.
- Monitor content effectiveness and update as needed.
- Share best practices across the organization.
- Identify potential problem areas diagnose root causes, and recommend practical solutions
- Track trends in learning technology and champion new tools and approaches that support business goals
- Content Development
- Apply instructional design and adult learning theory to develop effective curriculum.
- Partner with SMEs to design blended learning solutions (e-learning, videos, job aids, knowledge checks).
- Use storyboards, templates, and design tools to create visually engaging content.
- Evaluate existing training programs and recommend improvements.
- Project Management
- Manage multiple training projects and timelines.
- Coordinate with SMEs, training specialists, and managers to meet deliverables.

Compensation
Salary Range: $77,600 – $129,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
Who You Are
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2+ Years of relevant experience required.
- Experience in instructional design and adult learning principles.
- Proficiency with multimedia authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Vyond, Camtasia).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence and build relationships across teams and levels.
- Quick learner with the ability to train others on new technologies.
- Highly organized, tech-savvy, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and adaptable.
