Introduction
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Learning Technology Solutions Lead to serve as the technical lead for our SkillsBuild for Academia program. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the technical implementation of LTI integrations and platform solutions across our academic and corporate partner ecosystem. You will work closely with schools, universities, workforce organizations, and internal teams to translate program goals into scalable, interoperable learning technology solutions.
This role combines strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and technical execution to deliver impactful educational experiences through seamless integrations with LMS platforms and learning tools.
Your role and responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for the SkillsBuild for Academia program, overseeing all technical aspects of platform integration and partner enablement.
- Collaborate with academic institutions and workforce organizations to understand their learning technology requirements and constraints.
- Lead discovery sessions to gather functional and technical requirements related to LMS compatibility and integration workflows.
- Work with internal development teams to implement and test LTI integrations (LTI 1.3) that connect SkillsBuild offerings with partner LMS systems (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with SkillsBuild’s legal and data privacy standards
- Create and maintain documentation, implementation guides, and technical onboarding materials for partners and internal stakeholders.
- Support partner onboarding and provide technical guidance during and after implementation.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, manage escalations, and recommend long-term solutions to improve system reliability and user experience.
- Provide thought leadership on learning technology trends and represent the program in technical and cross-functional discussions.
Required education
High School Diploma/GED

Required technical and professional expertise
- 5+ years of experience in learning technology or edtech roles with a strong background in LTI integrations and LMS platforms.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional technology projects with external partners.
- Strong knowledge of LTI 1.3, RESTful APIs, OAuth 2.0, and SSO authentication mechanisms.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Project management skills and experience managing technology rollouts or partner programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead initiatives from planning through execution.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Experience in workforce development or academic-industry partnership programs.
- Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI, Common Cartridge, or other e-learning content packaging standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience in open-source learning technologies and standards-based learning ecosystems.
- Comfortable presenting to diverse stakeholders including educators, administrators, technical teams, and executive sponsors.
