Manager Automated Controls, Industrial Maintenance & Robotics Training Full Description
Position Summary
Performs duties necessary to assess the technical training and performance needs of area business and industry, proposing training solutions, designing and/or selecting programs, activities, equipment and resources to implement training and performance improvement and supervising the activities of any additional part-time WSG instructors providing technical training. Also responsible for management of the industrial maintenance and automated controls program, curriculum and equipment base including the installation, maintenance and upgrading of the equipment base for an automated manufacturing training center as well as consulting with college administrators regarding future technical trends.
Primary Duties Performed
- Consults with Workforce Solutions Group – Technical Training Services and its clients regarding industrial maintenance, automated manufacturing and other technical training issues.
- Designs and develops curriculum and material for automated manufacturing and other technical training needs.
- Makes presentations to clients which address technical training needs.
- Assesses clients' technical training needs particularly as they relate to automated manufacturing and industrial maintenance.
- Develops training equipment specifications and recommends purchases for Workforce Solutions Group and its clients.
- Develops cost estimates, budgets and operating plans as needed for training classes, equipment purchases and special projects.
- Designs, engineers and supervises the installation of industrial maintenance and automated manufacturing systems which are dedicated to training at the Technical Training Services facility or at other sites.
- Maintains a knowledge base of current issues and trends in technology, particularly as they relate to factory automation and industrial maintenance. Consults with WSG and clients regarding these issues and trends.
- Works with credentialing institutions to stay on top of new and evolving credentials.
- Aligns WSG training with industry recognized credentials.
- Recommends and supervises instructors for technical training classes.
- Provides technical instruction.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and over five years OR Associate's Degree in Control Systems and over 7 years experience in engineering or maintenance at a manufacturing facility which utilizes automation equipment.
