Manager, Commercial Retail Learning & Development-L10 Full Description

Overview: 
Location: Purchase or Chicago
 
The Commercial Retail L&D Manager leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of learning programs developed to enhance the capabilities of the Pepsi Beverages North America (PBNA) sector Commercial Planning & Marketing team.
 
This position will be charged with having a deep understanding of our Commercial Retail and their needs, while bringing forward best-in-class learning solutions and content/curriculum curation that meets the needs of adult learners. This includes a variety of projects in areas such as onboarding, functional excellence, and learning sustainability. Capabilities for this position include having a deep understanding of learning needs assessment, strategy development, instructional/content/curriculum design and development, consulting, onboarding, adult learning theory, and innovative learning technology.

Responsibilities: 
  • Instructional Design:
    • Lead the design and development of innovative, engaging, and effective learning materials across multiple modalities (e.g., e-learning, instructor-led training, blended learning).
    • Ensure all learning materials meet high standards of instructional quality, accessibility, and alignment with adult learning principles.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in instructional design and technology-enhanced learning.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), HR, and business units to design relevant and customized learning solutions.
    • Serve as a consultant to internal stakeholders, offering guidance on learning needs and performance improvement.
    • Facilitate and engage subject matter experts to capture knowledge, best practices, and program feedback, and translate them into learning solutions
    • Drive other Talent Development-related consulting and project work as assigned
  • Quality Assurance and Evaluation:
    • Establish processes for evaluating the effectiveness of learning solutions through metrics, feedback, and assessments.
    • Conduct regular reviews and quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of instructional design and content.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage instructional design projects using agile methodologies from inception to completion, including resource allocation, scheduling, and risk management.
    • Foster collaboration and communication among team members, subject matter experts, and stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100.

  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.

Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (4+ years) in instructional design, with a demonstrated track record of designing and implementing successful learning programs.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders and SMEs to assess learning needs and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to think strategically, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong understanding of change management & how to launch large scale projects to our field organization.

  • Advanced instructional design skills for creating internal content.
  • Strong vendor management skills to handle fewer vendors more effectively.
  • Strategic planning and execution capabilities to drive the Sales Excellence agenda.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team, managing increased budget and scope.
