Job Summary
Learning is a vital force that fuels life . At GED Testing Service we are seeking a driven and passionate Manager , Data Analytics & Insights to drive the collection, measurement and analysis of our company and product data. In this role you will be responsible for supporting data-driven decisions that provide the largest, and often life-changing, impact to our learners and to the organization.

This is a critical role for organizational insights, decision making and effectiveness. It reports to the President and is a member of the leadership team. It blends hands-on analytics with team leadership, cross-function influence, and forward-looking strategic insights. The ideal candidate must have a combination of technical fluency, business acumen, and interpersonal savvy to lead an engaged analytics team.

They will be adept at crafting stories and narratives that inform and persuade senior leaders and stakeholders by effectively utilizing data. Additionally, they will demonstrate the ability to learn and adapt, guiding the team in identifying, learning, and implementing new AI-driven tools and solutions to further enhance the team's value.

Key Responsibilities
Market and Business Insights: Conduct and synthesize market research, competitive analysis, and learner behavior trends to inform go-to-market and growth strategies.

Set and Align Team Priorities: Define and manage the team’s roadmap, aligning analytics efforts with business needs, priority impacts and strategic initiatives.

Tech & Data Strategy: Anticipate future technology and infrastructure needs, partnering with the Product & Tech team to evolve our analytics stack and data governance processes.

Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner closely with Product & Tech, Finance, Marketing, and Leadership to translate data into actionable opportunity and tracking.

Lead OKR Development: Facilitate the organization’s annual OKR setting, and work with the Strategic P.M. on the monthly update process, translating company strategy into measurable outcomes.

Establish Scalable Data Foundations: Implement data infrastructure, standards, and governance practices to ensure high-quality, accessible data that supports the integration and scalability of future AI and ML solutions.

Stakeholder Communication: Deliver compelling narratives and insights to stakeholders through dashboards, presentations, and storytelling that connect data to business outcomes.

External Engagement: Confident representing the organization at occasional conferences, meetings, external posts, public forums, and within the broader analytics and education ecosystem.

Required Skills
SQL & BigQuery: Deep experience with data extraction, transformation, and querying at scale.

Analysis: Experience with data manipulation, modeling, and scripting automation using analytics packages (Python, R, etc.).

Data Visualization: Strong proficiency with Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to develop and maintain executive-ready dashboards.

Modeling & Forecasting: Experience building ML models and performance forecasting aligned to business outcomes.

Team Management: 3+ years of direct team leadership experience, including coaching analysts and managing performance in a fast-paced environment.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to define team vision, align work with business goals, and influence decision-making at all levels.

Excellent Communication Skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats, including proficiency with MS office suite of products. Experience with MS Copilot desirable.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work across departments, translating complex data into clear recommendations for product, finance, and leadership audiences.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field; Master’s or MBA strongly preferred.

Experience: 7+ years of experience in analytics, insights, or strategy roles with increasing responsibility.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The minimum full-time salary range is between $140,000 - $145,000.
