Job Description
In this position, the Manager of Learning and Development will manage the daily workflow relevant to the development and delivery of training, training programs, and resources. Under the guidance of the Senior Director, this individual will support the strategy around instructional design and development, training intake and implementation, project management, and onboarding with a focus on designated stakeholder groups within the business.
· Manage and develop a team of 3-5 instructional designers and training facilitators
· Oversee the daily operations related to the development and delivery of training programs and resources for one or more areas of the Walden organization
· Support and execute the learning and development strategy in alignment with business goals, under the direction of the Senior Director
· Manage the end-to-end training intake process, including needs assessment, prioritization, and stakeholder engagement
· Lead instructional design efforts, ensuring the creation of high-quality, engaging, and effective learning content
· Coordinate and monitor onboarding programs to ensure consistency and effectiveness across stakeholder groups
· Drive project management efforts for learning initiatives, ensuring timely and efficient delivery
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align training solutions with business needs and performance outcomes
· Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree Required
· Master's Degree with a specialization in Training, Instructional Design, or Organizational Development (or related field). Preferred
· 4+ years experience operating within a training environment, with a focus on instructional systems design. Required
· 2+ years supervisory or management experience. Required
· 1+ year project management experience, with a focus on project consultation and management. Preferred
· Experience within the higher education industry. Preferred
· Proven experience maintaining relationships with multiple stakeholders within a complex business environment.
· Expertise with the full lifecycle of a learning and development function, with knowledge of the instructional design and development process; adult learning theory; and performance development/management.
· Experience managing the improvement of employee performance, including creating and tracking measurement criteria and ensuring that training programs are contributing to organizational goals and objectives.
· Superb track record in developing and executing successful training programs.
· Exemplary organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to prioritize and work within a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
· Proficient computer skills required, including Project Management software.
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $70696.34 and $108334.92. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
