Job Summary |
Who We AreThe Center for Medical Innovation (CMI) is the University of Utah’s medical device venture studio. We help students, faculty, and staff take bold ideas and turn them into real, market-ready medical technologies. From hands-on programs to in-house prototyping and regulatory support, we’re built to move fast and solve real problems in healthcare. In early 2026, we’re launching the James LeVoy Sorenson Center for Medical Innovation (SCMI) — a next-gen facility that will supercharge our ability to build, test, and launch even more breakthrough devices.
More on that here.
The RoleWe’re looking for a marketing pro who can help us tell our story, grow our brand, and get the word out about what we do — and what’s coming next. You’ll lead the charge on marketing strategy, content, and outreach across all channels, and be a key player as we launch our new building and expanded offerings.
Responsibilities |
What You’ll Do Develop and execute full-funnel marketing campaigns to promote CMI’s mission, programs, and outcomes. Write, design, and manage content for web, social, email, and print — aligning messaging with strategic goals. Collaborate with internal teams to spotlight innovation stories, upcoming events, and funding opportunities. Lead SEO, analytics tracking, and performance reporting to guide continuous improvement. Manage and update the CMI website, ensuring clear navigation, fresh content, and consistent branding. Grow and engage our social media following through original content, campaigns, and performance tracking. Coordinate with PR, university communications, and media partners for outreach and press coverage. Plan and execute events and trade shows, including branding, signage, and collateral. Support the marketing and communications needs for the SCMI launch — including digital campaigns, events, and partner engagement.
