Work Location: Hybrid, up to 2 days discretionary remote (after the probationary period)

Job SummaryManages the daily operations of the Financial Aid Office, including problem solving, exercising professional judgment and direct supervision of a portion of the staff.

Job Duties:Focuses on the daily responsibilities of the Financial Aid Office to ensure smooth departmental operations. Serves as the primary contact for staff when they encounter unresolved issues. Develops, implements, and maintains operational plans, programs, and systems, collaborating with the Systems Office Financial Aid for resolutions when necessary
Oversees staff performance and goal achievement, directing their activities, providing feedback, and conducting annual reviews.
Utilizes a comprehensive understanding of all positions to step in and assist or complete tasks in the absence of other staff members.
Handles special projects assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
Processes professional judgment requests in conjunction with the Director of Financial Aid. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Communications, Education, or related field.Two to Four years experience in Financial Aid
Working knowledge of financial aid systems and processes.
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role
Ability to handle conflicts and provide constructive feedback.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
High attention to detail, independent, self-motivated, adaptable to fast-paced environments.
Skilled in engaging and supporting students from diverse different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Professional and courteous communication at all levels, both internally and externally.
Efficiently prioritize and meet deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).


Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in using financial aid management systems.
Experience working at the community college level.
