Blackbaud is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Planning Close & Consolidations Systems to join our organization. This role will report to the Controller. A successful candidate would be a self-motivated and experienced system architect with a constant drive for process improvement. Interest in developing detailed knowledge/ownership in systems (Hyperion, including Planning & Financial Management, as well as Workday and Adaptive Planning and other financial systems) is critical to success in this role. Manage a small team of system administrators, including training, mentoring and performance. 

What you'll do:
  • Define, document and support requirements for functional, data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs.
  • Monitor application performance; Identify and communication resolution of issues
  • Work with the business to improve day-to-day, month end and periodic operations of the system
  • Lead the coordination and design recommendations of the Global Financial model, including Chart of Accounts, global coding schema, cost center structure, hierarchies and organizations
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Accounting to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions using Hyperion and/or Adaptive Planning to support Blackbaud’s reporting, planning and forecasting processes.
  • Build metadata, security groups, forms, workflows, view and dashboards, reports, allocations and data integrations
  • Develop test scripts and perform testing, debugging and troubleshooting
  • Design and develop financial models to support budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop systems and procedures that enhance or support the Company's business and operations.
  • Consult and coordinate with other members of the Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Reporting, Financial Operations,  IT infrastructure groups, server administration, and others  to design and develop automated business systems.
  • Lead project for potential upgrades either within Hyperion or to Adaptive Planning, as well as potential upgrades to close and consolidation systems.
  • Manage a small team of system administrators for day to day operations of the current Planning, Close & Consolidations Systems.
  • Own other financial systems as required that support the Accounting, Reporting & FP&A teams, such as Blackline or other applications.

What you'll bring:
  • 10 years of relevant work experience, including 5+ years with hands on Hyperion EPM applications as well as ESSBASE.  Detailed experience with complex business rules, calculations, formulas and transformation rules, as well as building metadata, security groups, forms, workflows, reports, allocations and data integrations.
  • Prior use of Workday Adaptive Planning is preferred. Prior experience with leading Adaptive Planning (or similar tools such as Planful, Anaplan, BPC, OneStream) system upgrades or implementation is a significant plus.
  • Thorough understanding of intercompany accounting, currency translations, multiple accounting conventions, close processes, and consolidation and financial statement presentation for regulatory and statutory reporting.
  • Understanding of S-OX controls, including change management and access
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, driven to continuously strive for excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate in both team and matrixed environments.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize work amongst multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing a small team to drive performance.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
