About the Opportunity
Ellucian is looking for an experienced and dynamic Manager, Professional Services to lead our Data Conversion Consultants on the Platform team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of technical consultants specializing in data migration and system conversions from legacy platforms to Ellucian’s new platforms. You will oversee the technical delivery of data conversion services, ensuring successful migrations of student data, academic records, and other critical systems for our higher education clients. Where You Will Make an Impact
- Lead and manage a team of Data Conversion Consultants, guiding them in the implementation of data migrations and conversions from legacy systems to Ellucian’s new platform solutions.
- Oversee the successful delivery of complex data conversion projects, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and seamless transitions for clients, particularly in student information systems (SIS).
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for technical challenges related to data conversion, ensuring timely issue resolution and effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Development, Customer Success, etc.) to ensure smooth integration of converted data into the new platform and alignment with client needs and timelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand client-specific data conversion requirements, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the entire project lifecycle, from planning to post-conversion support.
- Drive continuous improvement within the team, optimizing data conversion processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance service delivery and reduce migration risks.
- Mentor and develop team members, ensuring they have the skills and resources to perform at their best and continue to grow professionally.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Ellucian’s platform architecture, and help translate complex technical concepts into actionable solutions for clients.
- Implement best practices and ensure compliance with relevant data governance standards and privacy regulations throughout the data conversion process.
- Measure and track project success through metrics and KPIs, ensuring timely delivery of quality results while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
What You Will Bring
- 7+ years of experience in technical consulting, data conversion, or software implementation, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role overseeing technical teams focused on data migration or SIS systems.
- Deep expertise in data conversion methodologies, tools, and techniques, particularly in the context of student information systems (SIS) and higher education platforms like Ellucian Banner.
- Strong project management experience, with the ability to manage complex, high-priority data migration projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and meet client expectations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, including experience in mentoring and developing team members to drive high performance.
- Technical proficiency with database management, ETL processes, data mapping, and data transformation tools, as well as familiarity with common data formats and protocols used in data migrations.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a solution-oriented mindset to address complex technical challenges quickly and effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and build strong client relationships.
- Experience with Ellucian Banner or other student information systems (SIS) platforms is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security standards relevant to higher education, especially in the context of student data, is a plus.
