Pay Range Information  | Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

 Position Summary Information 
Job Description Summary  | The Manager, Student Involvement – Student Organizations, is responsible for the advisement and development of recognized student organizations at Chapman University. In conjunction with other professional staff, the Program Coordinator supervises graduate and undergraduate assistants in managing student organization recognition, student leader training and development, event planning and implementation, contract management, and student organization adherence to University policies. The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing strong relationships with campus partners to the benefit of recognized student organizations. The Program Coordinator is a member of the department senior leadership team and will contribute to department initiatives and goals, as well as those of the Division of Student Affairs. The Program Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director, Student Involvement.

Responsibilities  | Student Organization Advising and Development Contribute to the strategic development and continued growth of student organizations Provide advisement, support, and training for recognized student organizations and their officers Facilitate student involvement fairs in partnership with the Student Organization team Support the implementation of student organization training and advisor training with regard to leadership development, member recruitment and retention, interpersonal communication, finance, risk management, conflict resolution, wellbeing, and facilitation. Assist with the creation of student organization resources, policies, and training materials. ·Implement metrics and assessment tools to evaluate the impact of student organization initiatives, programs, leadership workshops, and outreach efforts.  Student Organization Management ·Supervise graduate and undergraduate student employees who are the first point of contact for student organization inquiries Ensure student organization adherence to and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, including risk management policies, event planning policies, fiscal policies, and the Student Conduct Code. Manage contract processes for recognized student clubs and organizations Manage financial processes for on-campus student club and organization accounts Assist with student organization registration, recognition, and bi-annual review processes and help maintain an updated campus wide listing of student organizations. Facilitate regular communication with student organization leaders In partnership with professional staff, update and coordinate the student organization management system, student organization website, and all other digital resources pertaining to student organizations. Attend meetings and contribute to the Student Events Advisory Committee and Student Organization Staff Advisors Committee. Departmental Management and Administrative Tasks Coordinate departmental responsibilities as designated by supervisor. Ensure adherence to University, Division, and Department policies and procedures. Conduct student staffing process in conjunction with other departmental professional staff and in concert with department-wide student staff selection and training. Serve as a member of the department senior staff leadership team & participate in senior staff meetings and department trainings & projects. Assist with applicable University, Student Affairs, and/or Departmental programs and services as requested by the Dean of Students Office and/or the Assistant Dean of Students. Assist with other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications  | Knowledge of student development theory, trends, and issues relevant to higher education. Prior experience in student affairs working with leadership development and advising of students in higher education. Significant experience in planning and implementation of student activities and programming (including social, cultural, recreational, and educational). Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute logistics for special events, including coordination of media services, catering, and facilities. Experience reviewing and executing contracts with external vendors. Experience working with program and policy development. Experience with and commitment to promoting student leadership development. Experience in the planning and development of individual and group training programs. Ability to make independent administrative decisions and judgments. Ability to exercise initiative and work independently. Commitment to enhancing and promoting diversity in higher education. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels, both inside and outside the University. Demonstrated interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills. Ability to use tact and diplomacy and to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to carry out duties in a timely manner. Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize duties when faced with interruptions, distractions, and fluctuating workload. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Ability to evaluate data, assess alternatives, and make decisions and/or recommendations as required. Analytical skills to assist in evaluating program effectiveness and recommending changes. Ability to use standard office equipment including copier and computer. Skill to prepare basic financial forms and reconcile expenses. Skill to perform arithmetic calculations such as add, subtract, multiply, divide, and percentages. Technical ability to learn and use enterprise software. Strong computer skills in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, internet and electronic mail software, preferably of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare, proofread and edit clear, concise and grammatically correct business correspondence and other documents Strong commitment to teamwork and customer service. Working knowledge of University policies and procedures that pertain to the duties of the position. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications  | Master’s degree or in-progress graduate coursework in higher education, college student affairs, public health, fitness, recreation, or a related field. Direct experience advising college student organizations including fraternities and sororities
