Position Summary:
The Manager, UA Programs works directly with Nationwide UA Locals (and affiliated groups) to attract and support students in accessing and meeting the requirements and credits needed for degree completion. The manager trouble shoots issues concerning UA programs, student status, and maintains the UA website. The manager serves as a case manager (single point of contact) for all UA students and union affiliates anticipating course/program needs and maintains all records including entry, retention for activities needed for UA programs.   

Essential Duties include:
Recruit new and advise current members of the UA, Bricklayers Allied Craftsworkers (BAC), International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), and Ironworkers on student requirements needed for completion of degree/program via telephone, email, and in-person for registration, advising, transcripts, degree completion and other WCC services. Serve as a primary point of contact for 330 nationwide locals to trouble shoot issues concerning UA programs, student status and UA website. Supervise support staff including hiring, training, evaluating, discipline, and scheduling. Provide training in the use of UA database, registration procedures, recruitment activities to UA Training Coordinators Evaluate and verify credit from traditional and non-traditional transcripts and other learning experiences for UA, BAC, IBEW, and Ironworkers for credit toward WCC degree programs. Manage both mass and individual registration of UA Apprentices in both distance learning and on-site courses. Serve as an advocate for all UA participants to determine the resolution of issues between the UA and various College departments including Information Technology, Student Records/Registration, and Academic/Instructional Services. Manage on-going student communication and the development/delivery of promotional materials to the UA Apprentices on WCC course offerings. Manage student progress, retention and degree completion procedures. Develop strategies to improve retention and student success for all UA participants. Responsible for the maintenance of the UA database for accuracy of information. Troubleshoot and develop solutions to system problems. Responsible for ensuring the UA web-site information is current and accurate. Other duties as assigned.

Related Duties:
Ability to work with Dean, Skilled Trades Training on all UA database needs including query development, maintenance and all table and field changes within the database as needed. Ability to run standard and help develop ad hoc queries regarding UA student needs and outcomes. Ability to develop and deploy communication and marketing plans in support of UA student recruitment and retention goals. 

Minimum Qualifications:  | Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree and equivalent of four (4) years full-time work experience. One year of supervisory experience. Experience in database management, including development, maintenance, troubleshooting and reporting. Ability to extract and analyze data using appropriate software tools. Expertise in various software packages: spreadsheets, presentation, database management systems, and word processing. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written, phone, and face to face).  Broad experience with networking and cultivating relationships within a diverse community. Ability to appropriately handle confidential materials. Ability to understand and explain institutional policy and procedures to students, staff, and other appropriate communities.
